Non-return valves

Available in sizes DN 40 to DN 1200, our DIN non-return valves can be installed either horizontally or vertically, but with an upward flow direction only.  Upon request, they can be fitted with a lever and a counterweight to ensure quick closing.  If you prefer a gentle closing process, we recommend using a hydraulic damping system.  The closing speed can be adjusted according to the operating conditions.  Upon request, in order to facilitate the installation, larger sizes are also available with a heavy hook.

Design and function

Unintentional media backflows into pipelines are an occurrence that industrial companies have to deal with from time to time.  This is where non-return valves come into play.  Available in sizes DN 40 to DN 1200, these valves can be installed either horizontally or vertically, provided that the liquid flows upwards.  In order to guarantee faster closing, the valves can be equipped with a lever and a weight.  If you prefer a gentle closing process, we can fit the valves with a hydraulic damping system.

Non-return valves

…consist of a body with a shaft and a seat ring.  Their cover can be easily removed for revisions.  The movable shaft inside the body is connected to a valve disc that acts as a shut-off element.  When the medium flows through the pipeline, the valve disc opens, unblocking a passage between 50 and 90 degrees (depending on the type).

The weight of the valve disc,

the friction against the shaft and the buoyant force affect the closing behaviour.  It must be noted, however, that the weight of the valve disc does not increase linearly with the nominal diameter.  One of the disadvantages of non-return valves is that they can sometimes close too forcefully.

With a lever and a counterweight

or hydraulic components, it is possible to improve the valve disc’s closing behaviour.  We will be happy to help you find the ideal solution for your needs.
