Globe valves are essential components when it comes to regulating and interrupting the flow of liquids and gases.  There are two important types of globe valves: ANSI and DIN.  While both types have similar functions, they do differ in some important respects which are worth considering.

ANSI globe valves are manufactured according to the standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).  Often used in industrial applications and the public sector, these globe valves are very popular in the USA and other countries.  ANSI globe valves feature established sizes and threads, which makes them easy to install and replace.  They are also available in different materials.

DIN globe valves are manufactured according to the standards of the Deutsche Industrienorm (DIN, German Industrial Standard) and widely used in Europe.  The flange pattern of these globe valves differs from that of ANSI globe valves, which is why they are not compatible.  However, they are available in a wide range of sizes and materials and feature a high level of tightness, which makes them ideal for use in damp environments.

When it comes to performance, there is no clear superiority of either ANSI or DIN globe valves.  Both types have their strengths and weaknesses, and the choice is mainly determined by the requirements and prerequisites of your application.  The important factor is that the globe valve meets the requirements and that it is suitable for your application.
