“ANSI” and “DIN” are standards applicable to the manufacture and design of strainers used in industrial areas.

ANSI stands for “American National Standards Institute” and refers to standards used in the USA. These standards specify the requirements for the strainers’ design, performance, inspection and labelling.

DIN stands for “Deutsches Institut für Normung” (German Institute for Standardisation) and refers to the standards used in Europe. While these standards also specify the requirements for the strainers’ design, performance, inspection and labelling, they do differ from the ANSI standards.

However, both standards share the same objective: ensuring safe and efficient cleaning. It is important to note, however, that strainers manufactured for use in Europe have to comply with the DIN standards, whilst strainers produced for use in the USA have to meet the ANSI standards.

Hence, when selecting a strainer, it is important to make sure that it complies with the standards applicable in the country in which it will be installed. In this way, it is possible to ensure the strainer’s safe and efficient operation and compliance with the applicable provisions.

Contaminations caused by the liquids and gases flowing through the pipelines can be prevented by using a strainer. The strainer acts like a filter, protecting the pipelines and valves against pollution. The size of the parts to be filtered can be matched to the mesh size of the valve.

Strainers are easy to clean. All you have to do is remove the cover and empty the contents of the screen. Once the strainer has been cleaned, the pressure should be reduced. Besides, we recommend replacing the cover seal. If required, you can include the replacement filters directly with your order.

Although the standard screen material is stainless steel, we can also deliver other materials. To facilitate the installation of strainers in greater nominal widths, the strainer can also be fitted with a heavy-duty hook.
